Who are Novosound?

Novosound is one of Scotland’s most exciting startups. Having won Converge Challenge in 2017, Dave Hughes, Founder and CSO, went on to secure a seed round of £1.5m following two successful showings at EIE.

Novosound’s core product, an ultrasound sensor, was originally targeted at the dental market. However, following something of a pivot, and the development of the product Dave and his team have refocused their product range towards a number of other markets including oil and gas and engineering to provide faster clearer, inspections.

Following their successful £1.5m seed round of investment Novosound had the immediate challenge of scaling from a small lab in the University of West of Scotland to the fully functioning lab and office in BioCity.

They needed everything from a Business Development Manager to a Lead Physics Engineer to a Bookkeeper.

Thankfully given our multi-functional approach we were able to accommodate Dave and his team and support them to grow.

Our recruitment process

One of the services we offer as TalentSpark is recruitment planning. We supported Dave to identify the key roles, the timelines that we would need to work towards and the potential costs involved.

This made planning this activity, when there is so much else going on, much easier.

As with all our permanent recruitment activity we started by mining our own, extensive database of candidates. We also worked with the marketing and communications team to create a bespoke landing page and targeted advertising page to uncover the very best talent.
